Welcome to BCO's portfolio! All of our projects are produced using a Sony DSR-250 DVCAM package and edited using an Avid non-linear editing system. The results are professional, polished, and broadcast quality; high-end video productions made simple and smarter, and that means better results.

Barbara Cook Overton's production philosophy, informed by the faculty of the University of New Orleans' graduate film program and even Aristotle, is simple: clean and thoughtful work with emphasis on content above all else. In his treatise on fine art, Poetics, Aristotle conveyed that great art, be it poetry or drama (and in this instance, media), is comprised of five elements: plot, character, thought, the expression of meaning in words and image, and lastly, spectacle. He believed spectacle the least sophisticated element and the least connected to the art of conveying meaning.

Overton took these lessons to heart and though she certainly doesn't shun all special effects, she does prefer a simple, straightforward style. She expertly crafts clean messages, relying on good production principles: artful composition, carefully shot images, quality sound recording, and insightful editing. Her approach is eloquent and effective. In the works displayed here, the results are clear.
